Sea Glass Is Alive and Well

Treasure Sea Glass is the collection of our family’s fun searching for sea glass at the “family beach” – a family secret that shall not be revealed.

Sea Glass in the Beginning

What started off as Dad’s Sea Glass Challenge, a fun competition for bored kids, has turned into something much bigger, but, fortunately much less aggressive! It was once a time-filler for long day-trips to the “family beach”. Now we plan excursions to other beaches rumored to have its share of sea glass, and make sure to stop at every beach we can, no matter what the real purpose of a trip may be.

Our Stash of Sea Glass

We’ve accumulated a communal vase-full of co-mingled sea glass since 2008. That’s all the less impressive stuff. Additionally, each one of us also has our own stash of favorites – pieces special to each of us in their own way. Color is important, as are size, shape, smoothing, frosting/pitting, and extras like molded letters that are just barely readable.

Sea Glass Treasure

Sea glass is treasure. It’s free, it’s fun, and you never know what you’ll find. The memories associated with finding it last a long time. That is really what it is all about.
